The General Manager of EASSE, Ricardo Gay, opened the meeting and explained the latest work carried out by our association in the last two years. Some of the achievements to highlight are the creation of an International Advisory Body, the improvements to our website, the edition of a digital newsletter, and the forging of new relationships with all the world single-sex organizations such as the IBSC, NCGS, GSA, ALCED, etc… as well as our participation in their events and annual conferences.
Two lectures were given by two experts in single-sex education: Professor Jaume Camps and Professor Alfonso Aguiló. Professor Camps presented his latest book: “Making The Most Of Gender Intelligence At School". Professor Aguiló also presented his latest publication called “Arguments For Single-Sex Education”. The meeting included a round table with delegates from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Ireland, Portugal and Poland and was led by Teresa Martinez, the Vice-president of EASSE. The components of the round table exchanged experiences and ideas with each other.
The meeting concluded with a speech by the President of EASSE, Joan Curco, who gave us a complete round up of the contributions to education that EASSE has carried out as well as explaining the way ahead for EASSE.
