First Annual EASSE European Day

EASSE holds its First Conference in Paris with the attendance of representatives from 14 countries.

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary participated in the First Annual European EASSE Day, held in Paris on November 28, 2015.

At the beginning of the day, EASSE’s General Director, Ricardo Gay, outlined the association’s activities in the last two years. Highlights included the creation of an international Advisory Council, the development of the website and the promotion of the activity in social networks, the publication of digital newsletters, and the participation in conferences and annual meetings of differentiated education organizations around the world (IBSC, NCGS, GSA, etc…).

Two experts in differentiated education, Jaume Camps and Alfonso Aguiló, presented their latest publications: “Gender Intelligence for School” and “Arguments for Differentiated Education,” respectively.

There was also a round table discussion, presented and moderated by EASSE Vice President Teresa Martinez, in which representatives from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Spain and France shared educational experiences.

As President, Joan Curcó closed the meeting with a speech on EASSE’s contributions and its future lines of work.

It was an opportunity to learn about the scene of differentiated education in different countries and for the participating schools to share experiences.
